Classic Ibiza is delighted to announce that it has partnered with Global’s Make Some Noise to raise funds to support disadvantaged children, young people and their families across the UK.
The money raised by concert goers for Global’s Make Some Noise will support charities across the UK, including Support Dogs - a small charity that provides, trains and works with assistance dogs to support children across Yorkshire living with autism.
Children with autism experience disadvantages socially, emotionally and physically. They can be affected in a number of ways, and the developmental disability can impact the whole family. Autism assistance dogs have been shown to decrease the stress and social isolation that this can create.
Following 18 months of training, assistance dogs are placed in a family environment. They provide safety and companionship, reduce stress and anxiety in social environments, and help to bring independence and a more socially inclusive life to both the child with autism and their family.
The charity helps children like seven-year-old Sam, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of five. Bright lights, music, crowds and shops all overloaded Sam’s brain and he found it difficult to cope.
Sam’s family have been supported by an autism assistance dog called Willow. Before Willow, Sam’s parents could struggled to get him to school – they couldn’t hold his hand because he hated to be touched and he would run off into the road. Keeping him safe became more and more of an issue and his parents ended up taking him to school in a disability buggy.
Sam’s Mum Emma said “Sam wants to go out now! He will actually ask to go to the shops or to the woods. Willow has given him confidence and makes him feel safe. When he struggles – Willow is there. Sam will lie down on the floor because he can’t run off, and Willow will lie down with him. It makes such a difference and we know that Sam is safe.”
“I don’t know what we’d be like if we didn’t have Willow.” says Emma. “If you had seen Sam last year you would have seen a very different child.”
Global’s Make Some Noise is proud to support the charity’s ‘Autism Assistance Dogs – After care support’ project which provides on-going after care for families with autism assistance dogs.
Classic Ibiza hopes to raise £20,000 for Global's Make Some Noise, through various fundraising activities including a donation of £1 from every programme sold on the evening, a recommended £5 donation from press and guest-list entries, face painting and collection points at all onsite retailers and exit points.
With your help, Global’s Make Some Noise can continue to support projects like Support Dogs and many more across the UK.
